GPS sports field line marking · Newcastle & Hunter

Automating the future of sports field line marking

Roboline marks football, rugby, AFL and cricket fields with RTK-GPS autosteer. Straight lines, true corners and repeatable layouts, done in a fraction of the time it takes with string lines and a walk-behind.

How it works

From satellite map to match-ready in three steps

Step 1

Plan the field

We place your layout on a satellite map in the iPad app using built-in templates for each code. Field dimensions, run-off and orientation are set once and saved.

Step 2

GPS steers, we mark

RTK-GPS autosteer drives the vehicle along every line while the spray system paints. No tapes, pegs or string lines, and no second person on the end of a tape.

Step 3

Re-mark on demand

Next round, we load the saved layout and paint over the exact same lines. Every marking is logged, so you have a record for each ground and each visit.

Why Roboline

Built for grounds staff, councils and clubs who are short on time

Dead-straight lines

Centimetre-level RTK-GPS keeps every line straight and every corner square, on any size field.

Hours back each week

No measuring, no string lines. Marking time drops from hours to minutes per field.

Less paint, less waste

Precise spray control and no double passes means less overspray and fewer drums.

Safer for your crew

Less repetitive walking, bending and pushing for your staff, and less manual handling risk.

Surfaces

One system for grass, synthetic and hard surfaces

Sportstraq marks natural and synthetic sports fields, and can also lay out car parks, event sites and temporary layouts.

Most common

Natural grass

Couch, kikuyu and rye fields for football, league, union, AFL and cricket.

Flexible layouts

Synthetic & hybrid

Add temporary training grids and small-sided layouts without changing sewn-in lines.

Beyond sport

Hard surfaces

Car parks, school playgrounds, depots and temporary event parking.

One-off jobs

Events & showgrounds

Stall grids, camping sites, fun-run courses and festival layouts.

Questions we get asked at the ground

The system uses RTK-GPS correction, which steers to centimetre-level accuracy. Because the layout is saved, every re-mark lands on the same lines as last time, so you don’t get creeping or wandering lines over a season.

Traqnology rates its Sportstraq system at around 10 minutes for an 11-a-side football field. Actual time depends on the code, how many fields are on the ground and travel between them, but most grounds are done in a fraction of the manual time.

Yes. We can add temporary lines on synthetic and hybrid fields, which is handy for training grids or extra codes without touching the sewn-in lines.

We’re based in Newcastle and service the Hunter: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock and the Upper Hunter. Larger jobs further afield are available by arrangement.

Yes. Roboline runs on Traqnology GPS technology. If you would rather run marking in-house, ask us about supply, fit-out and training on your own vehicle.
